“I have had clients where psyhcoloigcal injury has ended their career and has had profound negative impacts on their personal realationships. Marriages have ended and families have been fragmented,” he said.


Mr Hyland said clients who have made psychological injury claims include transport and education workers, pilots, lawyers and doctors.

Labourer Ali from Sydney said he was bullied by management and other staff after he raised concerns about abusive language and other bad conduct in the workplace. When he later raised safety concerns about being required to work with asbestos, his job was terminated the following day.


“We used to have to pick up waste material that contained asbestos and when we complained about the safety we were terminated without notice,” he said. “We received a piece of paper saying we were no longer required to work there and they hired new people the following day.”
