Pedestrian critical after crossing Gympie Road at Chermside

Later on Tuesday afternoon in another incident two women were taken to hospital, both in a critical condition, after a serious two-vehicle crash in the Logan suburb of Munruben at 4pm.


Police said the two cars, a Honda Civic and a Volkswagen Amarok, crashed in the southbound lanes of the Mount Indsay Highway south of Grainger Road.


A 36-year-old Flagstone woman, the driver of the Amarok, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.


A 77-year-old Algester woman, the driver of the Civic, was also taken to hospital with critical injuries.


The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
