They came, they saw, they crashed out in Stage Two again.


The grand final of Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior once again finished anti-climactically, as nothing of a remaining 24 competitors managed to conquer a barrier march for a shot during Mount Midoriyama and a show’s $200,000 jackpot.

Perhaps expecting a repeat of a backlash that greeted final year’s “winner-less” finale, hosts Ben Fordham and Rebecca Maddern sought to turn viewers’ expectations early.


“We know in America it took 7 seasons before a ninja managed to strech a top,” Fordham pronounced as a part opened.


“As we saw in a initial season, a leader will usually be announced if they make it successfully by Stage Two and Three, and to a tip of Mount Midoriyama,” Maddern followed-up, clearing any remaining confusion.
