'It was closure': Family mourns man found in Melbourne bin

The family of a striking artist whose physique has been found in a bin some-more than 17 years after he went blank contend it “was a shock”, though a find has given them closure.


Police pronounced on Tuesday that remains that were found at an Oakleigh South business in Melbourne progressing this month belonged to John Christianos.


The 40-year-old went blank in 2001 and was final seen during a residential home in Bentleigh East.


Mr Christianos’ family pronounced while many questions still sojourn unanswered about his death, a news has brought his 74-year-old father Ross, who is battling with depot lung cancer, some closure.


“I consider it was good timing, we don’t know how prolonged [Dad’s] got. Luckily we was means to tell him that John was found before he dies,” his half-sister Elena Christianos-Toskas told The Age.

“It was only unequivocally sad, he’d been in a bin for 17 years. Now hopefully his physique comes behind here and his mom can lay him to rest.”


Victoria Police pronounced Mr Christianos had been disloyal from his family for some time before he disappeared.
