Keith Urban appears on Andrew Denton’s Interview on Tuesday night, discussing his upcoming Australian tour, his 10-year struggle with addiction and, of course, life with his famous wife, Nicole Kidman.

The 50-year-old country music star invited Denton onto the stage ahead of his performance at the  Shoreline Amphitheatre in California earlier this month, one month into his Graffiti U world tour.

Sitting in Denton’s recognisable blue chairs, Urban was candid during the conversation, revealing why he took so long to show interest in Kidman after the pair met at 2005’s G’Day LA event, and how she changed his life forever with her well-documented intervention that he describes as “divine intervention”.

“I thought she was way out of my league. Of course,” he tells Denton. “It’s not an, ‘oh shucks, oh me’ story, it’s legit – I mean, I’m a kid from Brissie, I went to Nashville … somewhere along the line I end up meeting Nic.
