However, their coach Ben Batger isn’t exactly singing from the hills about the recent form of his side, who have slipped up against Norths and Easts this season.


“The ladder is a little bit deceiving. I think we’re going good but we’re not going great,” Batger said. “We’re making strides in terms of attitude and defence but our attack still needs a bit of work. Some of the fundamentals are letting us down.


“You’ve got to match Warringah with their physicality and energy. If you can shut down a few of their key players that helps you as well. The big thing is not giving them any opportunities.”


Gerrard, the former Wallaby, believes Warringah have learnt from their first half mistakes against Manly.


“For us it’s just weathering that storm early on and making sure we’re actually on song and a bit more consistent in our skill execution,” Gerrard said. “We made some terrible errors and giving away some soft points in the first 20 minutes of that game. We spoke about being quite resilient and getting out of our area. I’m talking about experienced players that didn’t exit out of our zone well enough.”
