Dark and moody defines Artbank's new space

Artbank, which has been collecting and curating art for over 30 years, now with over 10,000 art works, has found a new home in Collingwood.

Formerly based in Armadale, Artbank makes it possible to display some of the greatest Australian contemporary artists in one’s home through its leasing program.

Artists such as Richard Larter, Sally Smart, Lindy Lee, Polly Borland and Jeffrey Smart, normally exhibited in galleries, can be one’s own, at least for a year.

“Part of the move was the need for additional space. Artbank also wanted to be closer to the artists, many of whom have studios around here,” says architect Aaron Roberts, who worked closely with architect Kim Bridgland, directors at Edition Office.
