Two men have been arrested and one remains on the run after a home invasion and car theft in Melbourne’s north on Saturday morning.

Three males, two armed with weapons, entered a house on Augustine Terrace in Glenroy about 4.30am, police say. They stole keys to a BMW and fled the scene.

Two men and a woman, all aged in their 30s, were in the house at the time of the aggravated burglary. They were all unharmed.

The BMW was found at a service station on Sydney Road in Fawker on Saturday night. Police found a firearm in the vehicle.

A 27-year-old man from Glenroy was arrested at the scene. Police searched a house in Dallas later in the night, arresting a 40-year-old man from Broadmeadows.

Both have been charged with home invasion with a firearm, aggravated burglary, theft of motor car and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

They are set to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Sunday.

Police are still searching for the third male involved in the burglary. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
