Police are seeking public help to find the culprits behind a series of aggravated burglaries in Melbourne’s outer south-east in the past four days.

Southern Metro Crime Team detectives believe that the break-ins, at five houses in and around Pakenham and on the Mornington Peninsula, may be linked.

One of the first incidents was at Yarra Close, Pakenham, on May 31, from where a 2017 grey Mazda 3 sedan was taken between 1am and 5.45am.

Then at about 4.20am on June 1 burglars were disturbed by the occupants of a home on Nelson Road, Shoreham, and fled empty-handed.

That same day a champagne-coloured Volkswagen Golf station wagon was taken from a residence in Howard Street, Shoreham.
