No place like a home BBL final for Renegades

There has been debate in cricketing circles over whether a potential derby grand final should be switched to the MCG, for this would accommodate a crowd in excess of 50,000.
However, the Renegades maintain any home final will be held at Marvel Stadium – regardless of a pitch that has been brutally criticised by cricket administrators and players.
The shine the BBL had enjoyed has dimmed this season, meaning it could be a hard sell to attract more than 50,000 even to a derby final.
The marquee local clash on January 1 had 46,418 fans at the MCG, below the expectation of between 50,000 to 60,000, while the recent clash at Docklands had 38,117 attend. The capacity for cricket there is 47,000. The Renegades would be keen to retain all finals at Docklands to ensure consistency in match-day experience for fans.
The Melbourne Cricket Club is on standby for the finals but is of the belief that would be only for the Stars’ home finals.
