The ACT Brumbies are set to unveil Christian Lealiifano as the club’s solo captain on Friday in a leadership reshuffle for the Super Rugby season.
Brumbies coach Dan McKellar has been tinkering with ideas for his leadership group, with Lealiifano emerging as the man to take the reins after sharing the role since 2016.
The inspirational skipper has been a Brumbies co-captain, sharing the job with Stephen Moore three years ago before partnering with Sam Carter for the past two years.
But he will move into a more traditional captaincy role just weeks after meeting with doctors to assess his ongoing recovery from leukaemia, where it was hoped he would be told he was cancer free.
