Police investigating after 34-year-old man drowns at Clovelly

Police are investigating after a man has drowned at a beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on New Year’s Day.


About 2pm on Tuesday, the 34-year-old was pulled unconscious from the water at the north side of Clovelly Beach near Eastbourne Avenue, NSW Police said.

The man did not respond to a defibrillator, as “doctors on the scene” performed CPR on him for “quite some time”, a spokesman for NSW Ambulance said.
