Motorbike rider dies after hitting tree in final hours of 2018

A motorcyclist has died after losing control and crashing into a tree in Ipswich on New Year’s Eve.


The motorbike was heading east along Sinnathamby Boulevard near the intersection with University Drive in Springfield when the rider lost control and hit the tree in the centre median strip about 7pm.


The rider, a 33-year-old Morayfield man, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital but died a short time later.
