Family shattered as fire destroyed all their belongings

“My friend’s car had been destroyed, mowers and motorbikes as well but what really got me was my kid’s stuff was gone and we have to start all over again,” she said.


“We came to Mount Larcom with all of our possessions, the time and effort that went into getting those stuff to start a new life and bring into Queensland just for it to all be gone … it’s hard and we’ve only been here for a few weeks too.”


After seeing the destruction, a friend began to ask the community for clothes for Ms Amos’ family, which sparked a movement to help, with people donating items and funds to a GoFundMe page.
