Short injury list means Giants can afford to be choosers

Their recent record against the Suns does not bode well for those who want to see a contest at Giants Stadium today. They have won six in a row against the fellow expansion club, their past two with triple-figure margins.


The Suns are 17th having lost six in a row but the Giants are looking beyond that. They believe the Gold Coast of 2019 under Stuart Dew are made of sterner stuff than their predecessors.


They pushed the Eagles in Perth, lost by a point on the siren against Melbourne and challenged Port Adelaide and Geelong for long periods.


“It’s totally different now. They’ve got a hard edge, they play to the siren. They’re very disciplined, well coached,” Cameron said. “We’re expecting a really hard fought game. We’re going to have to play as well as we did last week to make sure we’re in a position to win the game at the end.


“I don’t think people look at the Suns and say they’ve got great talent, they look at the Suns and say they have talent that is working extremely hard.”
