A dozen dogs have been rescued from a puppy farm in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
About 3.45pm on Friday, dog inspectors from Salisbury Council located a dog wandering at large that had escaped from a Salisbury property.
Concerned neighbours reported that no one had been seen at the address for days.
In a statement, SA police said that: “Police were called and officers found male and female adult dogs and puppies locked in various rooms inside the premises, in horrible and uninhabitable conditions, without access to food, water and exercise.
“There appeared to be no one living at the home.”
Council officers removed the dogs and took the seven puppies to the vet for treatment.
No one appeared to be living at the house and investigations are ongoing.
