Brad Fittler’s advice to Latrell Mitchell on the eve of his first Origin series earlier this year was to simply ignore Will Chambers.


The Melbourne, Queensland and Kangaroos centre has a wonderful reputation of doing his best to get under the skin of his rivals, and was always going to try and niggle and push and hiss and annoy the rookie Blues star.

But Mitchell refused to take the bait in game one. The 21-year-old actually got the better of 30-year-old Chambers.


Mitchell came out on top again in games two and three. He continued to smile as Chambers ran out of answers.


And so it was in the 25th minute on Sunday night the mismatch all became a bit much for Chambers.
