“I’m very excited to see him at the selection camp and I hope he really does well and makes that final World Cup squad because he’s been working really hard,” Perkins said.
“He trains two and a half hours, three nights a week and plays in first grade games for the Indians when he can”.
The 33-player squad will assemble at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday, with the squad to be culled prior to the tournament opener on August 10.
Australia will play powerhouse Japan, two-time defending champions Cuba, the Netherlands, South Africa and the Dominican Republic, with the top three teams progressing to the super round.
