Snowdens look to win their way to the Golden Slipper

Snowden and his father Peter are masters of preparing juveniles, winning a Golden Slipper with Capitalist and a Blue Diamond with Pride Of Dubai in recent year.


They have the backing of Sheikh Mohammed  Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Henry Field’s Newgate Farm and James Harron, so  have the right horses.


Anaheed, which carries the Sheikh Bin Khalifa yellow silks, has impressed from the start winning the Victory Vein Stakes easily in the spring before coming back for a Blue Diamond preparation, but after a fifth in the Preview she came back to Sydney.


“We have had her down as one of our better fillies for a while but she sprained a joint at Caulfield and we had to back off her. She didn’t miss any work but did have to have a couple of quiet days, so we changed tack and targeted the Slipper,” Snowden said.


“She gets the blinkers on for Saturday and her work in them at home has been very good. She has shown the progression you need from the spring.
