One person in hospital after separate house fires in Perth suburbs

One person has been taken to hospital after a house fire in Hamilton Hill which authorities believe is suspicious.


A spokeswoman for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said firefighters were called to the home just after 6am on Friday.


WA Police are now investigating the incident. The fire was extinguished about 7.30am.


Also on Friday morning a home in Joondanna was gutted by fire, which was started by an electrical fault in an air conditioning unit.

The spokeswoman said the fire caused about $150,000 damage to the home on Green Street. It is understood the home was unoccupied but was in the process of being renovated.


When firefighters arrived at the home a bit before 6am they saw flames shooting through the roof of the home. It was under control by 7am.
