He has played 39 of a possible 44 games at the Saints and is their key intercept defender.

The Saints named Josh Battle and Nathan Brown (who is suspended in round one) in the key defensive posts for the opening JLT Community Series game to be played against North Melbourne on Saturday. Young Irish defender Darragh Joyce was also named on the interchange bench.

St Kilda face a difficult opening to the season with key recruit Dan Hannebery uncertain for round one and four-time best-and-fairest winner Jack Steven taking time away from the club to deal with mental health issues.
