'Reprehensible': Trump slammed for taking Kim Jong-un's word on American's death

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it was strange that Trump continued to take the word of “thugs” such as Kim and Putin.


Even Republicans slammed Trump for the Warmbier comments. Senator Rick Santorum said: “This is reprehensible what he just did. He gave cover, as you said, to a leader who knew very well what was going on with Otto Warmbier.”


Santorum said the President deserved praise for walking away from a bad nuclear deal with North Korea but that he had undermined his actions with his comments.


“This is the conundrum of Donald Trump for many of us who like his policies and don’t like many of the things he does and says,” he told CNN.


“I don’t understand why the President does this. I am disappointed, to say the least, that he did it.”
