“I kind of said before the game that ‘I can see that look in your eyes’ – there is a certain look that he gets sometimes before these games and I could see, before this one even started, that that was how he was going to come out.


“He wanted to come out and make a statement early and get all of us going and that was what he did.”


While Ware was the catalyst, Melbourne coach Dean Vickerman has also praised his team’s selflessness and commitment to the cause.


“I thought our guys were really good in that Casper subbed himself out one time tonight, Chris subbed himself one time tonight and we’ve talked about that in the past,” Vickerman said.


“If you go so hard that you are willing to put your hand up and know someone else can come in for you them we are in a pretty good place.”
