Queensland Labor in trouble, new poll shows

A new poll shows Annastacia Palaszczuk’s Labor government will struggle to retain power at the upcoming Queensland election.
Ms Palaszczuk’s personal popularity has also taken a hit, with the Reachtel poll having her deadlocked with Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls as preferred premier.
The Reachtel poll of 4000 voters, commissioned by Sky News, shows the Liberal National Party leads the ALP 52-48 per cent on a two-party-preferred basis.
But the primary vote for both parties has plunged, with Labor going from 32.1 from 37.5 per cent at the 2015 state election, and the LNP going from 41.3 to 30.6.
Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party is mainly responsible for the change in the LNP’s vote. It’s polling 18.1 per cent putting it in a position to make a return to the Queensland parliament.
The premier is due back from annual leave this week and had been tipped to call the state election soon.
It’s due early next year but is widely expected to be called for late October or early November.
