Celebrities have hit out at Trump for his Twitter attack on the mayor of San Juan.
In a series of early-morning tweets on Saturday, Trump said the mayor and others in Puerto Rico had displayed “such poor leadership ability” in being “not able to get their workers to help.”
“They want everything to be done for them,” Trump said. He also suggested that Cruz had been told to criticise the president by “the Democrats” after earlier praising the relief efforts.
It sparked a number of celebrities to tweet their own responses to the Twitter.
Star of the hit Broadway show Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is of Puerto Rican descent, tweeted: “You’re going straight to hell. She has been working 24/7. You have been GOLFING.”
Lady Gaga also responded to Trump’s accusation of “poor leadership”.
I this it’s clear where the ‘poor leadership’ lies @realDonaldTrump Puerto Rico is part of the United States. This is our responsibility.

San Juan’s mayor also responded to Trump’s comments, saying there’s “no time for politics” in the recovery effort.
“There should be no distractions,” she told Bloomberg.
Other celebrities expressed their disgust on Saturday, including musician John Legend who wrote: “Trump continues to dominate the shittiest president ever competition.”
