Noor, 33, had been charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Noor was handcuffed and taken into custody immediately after the verdicts were read just after 5pm Minneapolis time (8am AEST) despite his attorney’s request that he be free on bond pending sentencing on June 7.

He showed no visible emotion, but his wife was crying.

In Minnesota, second-degree manslaughter is defined as causing death “by the person’s culpable negligence whereby the person creates an unreasonable risk, and consciously takes chances of causing death or great bodily harm to another”.
