Clive Palmer, the man who Scott Morrison says will do less damage to the economy than Labor or the Greens, has a policy agenda which would blow a huge hole in the budget and could hit the superannuation returns of millions of Australians.


A breakdown of Mr Palmer’s policy agenda, as he has released over the past year, shows a string of big-ticket items that could only be covered by a surge in economic activity he claims could be driven by a change in the timing of business tax collections.

Mr Morrison and the Coalition have come under pressure after agreeing to a preference deal with Mr Palmer’s United Australia Party, with the Prime Minister defending the move on economic grounds.


“At the end of the day when we have to decide, do we think that the United Australia Party would be more dangerous to the Australian economy than Bill Shorten, the Labor Party and the Greens? Well I’m sorry, I think Bill Shorten the Labor Party and the Greens are,” he told the leader’s debate on Monday.
