Queensland man dies of knifing in police presence

A man has died in the custody of police officers following an alleged domestic incident in Toowoomba.
Police were called to a property in Harristown shortly after 11pm on Friday, but as officers arrived the 49-year-old man made a run for it.
When confronted by officers, he allegedly stabbed himself with a knife. He was taken to Toowoomba Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Queensland Police Service Ethical Standards Command will investigate the death, overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
