ACT Brumbies season hangs in the balance after frustrating loss to NSW Waratahs

It means the Brumbies are yet to beat an Australian team this year and finals chances could slip away if they struggle against the resurgent Reds.

The Waratahs struck first on the scoreboard with a Bernard Foley penalty, but it came at a major cost in the form of an Israel Folau hamstring injury.

Folau made a break with his first touch of the game to get the Waratahs in a scoring position, stepping off his right foot to leave Wallabies teammate Tevita Kuridrani clutching at air.

But Folau turned straight to the Waratahs’ bench and was replaced after just four minutes to ice his hamstring.

It wasn’t exactly a momentum changer, but the Brumbies would have been more than happy to see the back of the try-scoring machine and Wallabies superstar.
