Renegades ready to break WBBL finals drought

“That’s the clear goal, [to be] the first Renegades team to play in the finals,” Coyle said.

“We believe that our list is good enough. It’s about executing plans … we need to win some games, get some momentum, and hang onto that for as long as we can.

“But we’ve got a really good blend now of experience and exciting young players. We’ll go out and play hopefully a really exciting brand of cricket. That’s the goal. Let’s hope that’s good enough. But there are some really good signs.”

With New Zealand tearaway Lea Tahuhu, experienced and lively spinner Molly Strano, Wareham, Molineux, captain Amy Satterthwaite, Maitlan Brown and the spin of Danni Wyatt, the Renegades have no shortage of bowling options.

The key area in which the Renegades need to improve is their batting. Only Satterthwaite, Molineux and Jess Duffin passed 50 last season, although big-hitting Englishwoman Wyatt, Erica Kershaw, Courtney Webb and Anna Lanning have added batting depth this season.
