Chloe Hosking’s Canberra sport award celebration was more subdued than her Commonwealth Games gold medal win, but there’s no doubt the star cyclist really is a “big f—ing deal”.
Hosking and tennis gun Nick Kyrgios won the top individual awards at function at the National Arboretum on Friday night, honoured for their respective seasons on the international circuit.

Hosking won the road cycling gold medal at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road race, stage four of the women’s Tour Down Under and was first in points classification for the women’s Herald Sun Tour.
It was a brilliant year for 28-year-old and she was bursting with emotion when she crossed the line on the Gold Coast, saying: “People say for road cycling that the Commonwealth Games aren’t that big a deal, but I am a Commonwealth Games champion and it is a big f—ing deal.”
