Police were called to break up an out-of-control party in Palmyra overnight, facing a barrage of rocks and bottles as they worked to clear more than 100 revellers with some later brawling at a nearby fast food outlet.

Several calls had alerted police to the party at a Zenobia Street address just before 8pm on Friday night, with officers arriving to find an estimated 150 juveniles drinking in the home’s rear yard.

Bottles were hurled at police before the officers deemed the party an out-of-control gathering and moved to break it up.

More police with protective equipment arrived to more bottles and rocks being thrown at them in the street before about 100 partygoers reconvened at a fast food outlet on Canning Highway.

There, they brawled and several fights broke out before police managed to disperse the group and restore order.

Police arrested three juvenile males and a 25-year-old man is due to be summonsed for disorderly conduct, while a further 11 youths were detained and returned to their homes in the back of a police car.

Police will continue to investigate the incident.
