Man shot dead by police in central Queensland

A man has been shot dead by police during a confrontation in the central Queensland city of Rockhampton.


Police were called to a disturbance on Geoff Wilson Drive, Norman Gardens at 7.10pm on Friday. The man was shot and died at the scene.


No further information was provided. Police said the man’s death will be investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, on behalf of the state coroner, and the Crime and Misconduct Commission.
