Jones will have his traditional start to his year at the New Zealand Open in Queenstown, which tees off on Thursday.

Then he’ll have a few weeks to hone his game and get ready for the Japan tour, where he’ll play his first event at the Token Homemate Cup in Nagoya starting April 5.


Jones’ last major appearance was at the British Open in 2013, his fourth appearance at the historic tournament.


He’s also played the US PGA Championship five times and the US Open twice.
