Melbourne Storm utility forward Joe Stimson is a step closer to returning to first grade after being added to the 21-man squad to play Cronulla on Friday.

The Storm have made no changes to their 6-1 [win-loss] side but have switched forwards Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Christian Welch with Asofa-Solomona listed to start, although the Storm could change that at game time.

Forward Albert Vete has been a regular member of the 21-man squad but went down with a shoulder injury playing for feeder club Easts Tigers in Queensland Cup last weekend so has come out of the 21 opening room for Stimson.

Last week, coach Craig Bellamy made a surprise change and omitted premiership-winning centre Curtis Scott in favour of Marion Seve, that looks poised to continue with Seve retained in the starting side but Scott is still in the 21 so is available to return.
