A 49-year-old man has been extradited from Serbia to Australia to face charges linked to a multimillion-dollar drug bust last year.

David Campbell, from Murrumbateman in NSW, was one of three men arrested at a Belgrade hotel on January 18 for their alleged roles in the importation of 1280 kilograms of cocaine to Australia.

In March, another Murrumbateman man, Rohan Arnold, 44, was also surrendered to Australian authorities.

A third man, Tristan Waters, remains in custody in Serbia.

The drugs, which police say had a street value of $500 million, were found hidden inside pre-fabricated steel on a Chinese container boat in Sydney last April.

Mr Campbell was not in the hotel room when police arrived, but was arrested while sitting in a vehicle outside the hotel moments later.
