One dead, two trapped as walking track collapses in NSW Blue Mountains

One person has died and two people have been trapped, after a rock slide and the collapse of a walking track in the NSW Blue Mountains.


NSW Ambulance received a triple-zero call before midday on Wednesday after the rock slide and walking track collapsed near Wentworth Falls.


At least one of those trapped has serious injuries following the incident at Wentworth Falls National Park on Wednesday morning, NSW Ambulance said.


Fifteen ambulances with a special team of paramedics and three ambulance helicopters are trying currently to help the injured at the site.


SBS News understands the walking track has been closed due to dangers posed by falling rocks for some months.
